The course aims to introduce the fundamental principles of information security to the average computer user with no or little technical background. It discusses threats that could compromise security principles and potential countermeasures. The participant will gain basic knowledge on the primary information security principles, which could serve as a good starting point on further exploring security topics of his/her choice. Additionally, the participant will be aware of security threats that could cause security breaches.
The participant, after the completion of the course, should (1) have a basic understanding of information security principles, (2) be able to explain threats that could compromise those principles, and (3) list countermeasures to minimize the risk of security incidents.
